Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. — A woman pedestrian was killed this weekend in Syracuse when she was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident, police said.
The 60-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene early Sunday morning, Syracuse police said in a news release Monday. Police did not release her name at this time.
The woman was struck at about 12:05 a.m. Sunday near Shifty’s Bar and Grill, 1401 Burnet Ave., said Sgt. Thomas Blake, a spokesperson for the police department.
The driver did not remain at the scene, police said. No description of the vehicle was released by police.
